Case 3: Jennie was recently hired to work as a receptionist for the front lobby. As receptionist, she is responsible for making copies for the associates. Her son, Bruce, comes in and needs some copies for a school project. He brought his own paper and needs 300 copies for his class. If he doesn't bring the copies with him, he will fail the project. The company copier does not require a security key nor do they keep track of copies made by departments.
Answer:

In ways to make ethical decisions that can help you solve your questions, we should understand first or identify the ethical issue because in understanding the issue it can help us on how to solve the given problem and the second method we should list the facts that have the most bearing on the decision, third identify anyone who might be affected by your decision and how and fourth is think what each affected person would want you to do about the issue and fifth is to list alternative actions and identify the best and worst case scenario for each alternative like for example who might be harmed by this choice and you should follow the ethical way.

After learning the methods on how to deal with ethical issues or dilemmas, we are now able to solve the given issue and based from my perception if I am Jennie, the mom of Bruce who is my son and I am all about what ever makes it convenient. I know it is really important to help my son to finish or submit his project however we should follow the workplace ethics and printing 300 copies is way more extreme. If it were a couple pages maybe no more than 10, I would have just asked my boss if it was okay because asking permission is a good way to do. This is way too much like printing 300 copies. If you are following your sons’ favor and printing it at this point you are stealing from the company. You are stealing their ink and paper and remember that these things are already budgeted even though they don't check the copies printed by the company or they don't have a security key. She can also affect her job because what if she will get caught of disobeying the work policies. In order to help his son on his project is to find a proper decision that no one can be harmed. There are a lot of thing that she can do in a proper way.

Based on my thinking she should find a way and think ethically for no harm will happen because in this case there is no problem that cannot be solve because everywhere questions there is always an answer. If I am Jennie, I think first and then first alternative idea is that she should just take the copies to a staples or office depot and get it done that way and the second alternative idea is that she could have just sent her son to the library to do it. There are a lot of things that she can do to solve her ethical dilemma because there is no excuse for this case. The options of the good thinking can help you all the time. The case given is easy to deal with because like what I have said there is no excuse for this case because there is a lot of ideas on how to cope with this ethical issue or dilemma.

We should definitely follow the ethical methods because following these methods can help us on how to deal with ethical problems we encounter every day. Computer Ethics is the great thing to follow in solving the case because the problem deals with convergent technology.
