The implications of the varied online platforms
Technology is absolutely important to our lives and we all know that. When we say “Online” in general it means that you are connected to or served by or available through a system. In Empowerment Technology, there are eight online platforms. Online platforms are a specially developed platforms using Internet technology for the design and development of teaching and learning purposes. The following are eight online platforms:
The first one is the Assistive media platform is a unique avenue of accessibility for many individuals with cognitive, physical, and communication disabilities.
The second platform is the collaboration platform which is software that adds broad social networking capabilities to work processes.
The third platform is Media technological convergence which is the different technological system sometimes evolves toward performing similar tasks.
The fourth platform is the Information Communication Technology which is used to encompass all rapidly emerging and evolving computer software, telecommunications, Internet, and information systems technologies.
The fifth platform is the mobile media which is the corresponding media technologies, particularly cloud-based technologies; increasingly important role in the everyday lives of millions of people.
The sixth platform is the social media; these are computer-mediated technologies that facilitate the creation and sharing of information via virtual communities and networks.
The seventh platform is the web 2.0. It is the current state of online technology as it compares to the early days of the Web, characterized by more pervasive network connectivity.
The last platform is the Web 3.0. It is slated to be the new paradigm in web interaction and will mark a fundamental change in how developers create websites.
So we already know the eight platforms. So we have to differentiate and find the similarities of the eight online platforms. If we have to compare these eight online platforms, there are similarities like for example these platforms are made by our technology, we are using artificial intelligence technologies and we are connecting to the internet. When we talk about mobile media it contains social media, communication and online system etc. The distinctions of these eight online platforms are like what I have written in web 2.0 and web 3.0, the web 2.0 is the old version of searching information and web 3.0 is an upgraded version of web 2.0.The nine online platforms help us to survive our everyday life, it can help us to accomplish our goal or needs for example in the school by means of mobile media or etc., we can use this if you need to research about your assignment or etc and another example is for the people with disabilities, the people with disabilities can access the computers because of the help of assistive media and also the online system can also help our community to be more updated in any news like the weather, the community can be ready if they have a typhoons. Modern technology is really essential in our lives.
